Match Report: Team 22

Despite the final score of 37–18, Carine 22 delivered a performance that showed tremendous determination, resilience, and teamwork against a strong Steelers NC 28 side. From the opening whistle, the girls faced intense defensive pressure, but they never stopped competing. While the scoreboard may not reflect it, every player stepped up and worked tirelessly across the court. The team continued to fight for every ball, supported one another, and maintained a positive attitude throughout the game.

One of the most impressive aspects of the match was the team’s perseverance. Even when the game became challenging, the girls never let their heads drop and continued to battle until the final whistle. Their effort, commitment, and sportsmanship were outstanding and should make them all proud.

A special congratulations goes to Iris, our Whitfords Brewing Company award recipient, for her strong defensive performance. Iris consistently applied pressure, created crucial turnovers, and worked hard to disrupt Steelers' attacking play.

Congratulations also to Shannon, recipient of the Domino’s Pizza Voucher, for her exceptional work through the midcourt. Shannon's relentless running, support play, and ability to link defence and attack were a highlight throughout the game.

Well done to the entire Carine 22 team. The effort and determination shown this week will continue to build confidence and strength as the season progresses.
