Match Report: Team 19
The season has presented a challenging start for team 19, with only seven players available for most games and a run of injuries affecting feet, ankles, knees, and hands.
Given our lack of subs, this week’s training focused on improving fitness to help the team maintain intensity across the full 60 minutes, along with movement through the court and offering options in attack. The session finished with a game of Bump, providing a fun team-building activity while also sharpening shooting skills under pressure.
Following the recent regrade, the team moved down a division, resulting in a more evenly matched contest this week against fellow club friends, Carine team 20. The hard work at training showed, with some excellent passages of play and strong reading of the game across the court. The defensive unit and keeper created multiple turnovers, giving the attackers valuable opportunities to transition the ball forward.
While the final score didn’t fall our way, it was a competitive 3 goal difference, with the gap almost closed in the final quarter. There are plenty of positives for the team to take forward, they all gave a performance everyone can be proud of.
