Match Report: Team 15

Round 5 saw Carine U15 Team 15 take on Venetians U15 Team 19 on Court 10 in warm, sunny conditions on 6 June. It was an exciting challenge for both teams as their first game in Division 1, with Carine having earned promotion from Division 3 and Venetians moving up from Division 2.

Carine entered the match knowing they would face a strong and experienced opposition. Venetians started quickly and capitalised on their opportunities, taking the first quarter 17–7. Despite the early deficit, Carine maintained their determination and worked hard to settle into the game.

The second quarter was a much tighter contest. Carine lifted their intensity through the midcourt, creating more attacking opportunities and improving their defensive pressure. Both teams scored 12 goals for the quarter, demonstrating Carine's ability to match the pace and skill level of their Division 1 opponents.

The third quarter continued to be competitive, with Carine showing strong teamwork and resilience. Accurate passing and patient build-up play helped create scoring chances, while defenders worked tirelessly to disrupt Venetians' attacking flow. Venetians edged the quarter 9–8, but Carine remained committed and focused.

In the final quarter, fatigue began to play a role, but Carine continued to fight hard until the final whistle. Venetians took the quarter 8–6, resulting in a final score of 46–33.

While the result did not go Carine's way, there were many positives to take from the match. The team showed significant growth, determination, and the ability to compete at Division 1 level. Every player contributed throughout the game, and the experience gained against a quality opponent will be invaluable as the season progresses. Carine can be proud of their effort and look forward to building on this performance in the coming rounds.
