Match Report: Team 27

Team 27 continues to impress with their enthusiasm, commitment, and growing tactical maturity. The group brings energy to every session—always smiling, supporting one another, and working hard to refine their game. Recent training blocks have focused on structured attacking combinations and decision‑making under pressure, with particular emphasis on the clover drill and milkshake drill to sharpen timing, strengthen passing accuracy, and improve the quality of attacking leads.

A team favourite remains the high‑intensity 4v4 format, which has been invaluable for developing full‑court defensive pressure, quick ball movement, and game‑day fitness. Training alongside the Under 15s has also provided valuable match‑like scenarios, allowing the girls to test their structures and adapt to different styles of play.

The progress made at training translated directly onto the court this week. After three rounds together, Team 27 found their rhythm and executed their strategies with confidence, securing a hard‑fought 45–42 victory over a strong and determined Hamersley side.

The attacking combinations rehearsed at training were evident, with improved timing on leads and cleaner ball movement through the midcourt. Defensively, the benefits of the 4v4 work were clear—persistent pressure, disciplined body positioning, and effective transition defence helped disrupt Hamersley’s flow and create turnover opportunities.

It was a performance built on teamwork, resilience, and trust in the structures they’ve been developing. Our coaching group was thrilled to see the girls’ hard work pay off in such a competitive contest.
